Who should attend?
For low risk workplaces where the employers assessment of First aid needs identifies that a qualified First aider is required, but it would be sufficient to appoint an individual who has attended a one day Emergency First aid course to take charge of the First aid arrangements.
Aims and Objectives
To train the candidate in Basic Life Support (BLS), and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), They will learn how to deal with bleeds, shock, burns, fractures and head injuries as well as the ability to assess and treat other illnesses. They will also be taught basic record keeping and equipment maintenance.
An Emergency First Aid course is assessed by the tutor and recognised by the Health and Safety Executive, allowing the employer to meet the minimum level of First aid cover required for a low risk environment.
On successful completion of the course the candidate will receive a certificate in Emergency First aid, which will be valid for 3 years.
